Disability is not a deficit; it is a part of human diversity. Our work is not about charity. It is about removing the barriers that prevent persons with disabilities from accessing education, mobility, rehabilitation, skills, opportunities, and an independent life.
Physical disabilities
People whose mobility is limited by injury, illness or condition, and for whom the right device changes everything.
Intellectual disabilities
People who learn and process differently, and who thrive when teaching, therapy and expectations are built around them.
Sensory disabilities
People with visual or hearing impairments, for whom the right aid restores independent movement and communication.
Multiple disabilities
People living with more than one condition at once, who are too often left out of programmes designed for a single need.
Children & young people
Children and young adults with disabilities, where early intervention and education support shape the whole of a life ahead.

Because when a person with a disability gains independence, the whole household gains with them.
For many persons with disabilities, the biggest barriers are not their disabilities themselves, but the lack of access to education, mobility, rehabilitation, skills, opportunities, and inclusive spaces. SMART Foundation works to remove these barriers — one person, one family, and one opportunity at a time.

SMART Foundation works on the ground to empower persons with disabilities, including those with multiple disabilities, through targeted skill development, education support, rehabilitation, mobility assistance, and family support.
Founded and led by Dr. S. M. Abinaya, Advocate at the Madras High Court, SMART Foundation has grown into a nationally recognised organisation trusted by government bodies, CSR partners and communities alike. Every rupee is accounted for, every programme is audited, and every outcome is measured against the lives it changes.

The first interactive rehabilitation hub in Stanley Medical College and Hospital.
Inaugurated on 28 March 2026 at the District Early Intervention Centre, Government Stanley Medical College, the iFIT Hub uses iWall, iFloor, iCore and iTrack systems to build attention, balance, gait and cognition in children with multiple disabilities.

Nutritious meals for children who have no one else to cook for them.
On 6 February 2026, SMART Foundation served freshly cooked rice meals to orphaned and abandoned children at the Government Children Home for Boys, Ranipet District, part of our commitment to nutrition as the foundation of every other opportunity.
