On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, 3 December 2024, SMART Foundation delivered Teaching and Learning Material (TLM) support to special schools and early intervention centres across Tiruvannamalai District. The day was organised with Terre des Hommes Children's Organization for Relief and Education Trust (TDHC CORE), reaching more than 120 people at the event.
Six institutions received learning kits: Sneha Jyothy Special School (30 children), Lifeline Special School for Intellectually Disabled Children, Thandarampet Block (30), Childline Special School for Intellectually Disabled Children (40), Tamilan Special School for Intellectually Disabled Children, Thanipadi Block (20), the Early Intervention Centre for Associated Disabilities, Tiruvannamalai (15), and the Early Intervention Centre, Thandarampet Block (15).
The support was made possible by Mobis India Foundation, Latha Priyadharshini Agency and a private donor. Together, it brought the right learning tools to 150 children with disabilities, many in rural blocks where such resources are hard to find.
