Swachhata is strengthened when essential infrastructure empowers institutions to provide safe, hygienic, and dignified care for every child. Clean and well-equipped spaces are fundamental to protecting children's health, well-being, and development.

As part of Project Swachh Bachpan under Swachhata Pakhwada 2026, SMART Foundation, in collaboration with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), extended infrastructure support to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Ranipet District, reinforcing its capacity to provide a safe and supportive environment for children in need of care and protection.

To strengthen the institution's infrastructure and day-to-day functioning, the following essential resources were provided:

• RO Water Purification System

• Desktop Computer & Printer

• Office Tables & Chairs

• Baby Cradle

• Steel Almirah

• Water Bottles

These interventions contribute to creating a healthier, safer, and more efficient environment for the Child Welfare Committee, enabling it to better support children and fulfill its critical role in child protection and welfare.

Swachhata is also about creating environments where every child feels safe, valued, and cared for. Beyond clean surroundings, it embraces health, hygiene, protection, and the dignity that every child deserves.

As part of the same project, SMART Foundation and BPCL organised a special outreach programme for children in need of care and protection residing in a Child Care Institution under the orders of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), in accordance with the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act. These children, who are under institutional care for their safety and well-being, deserve opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive in a nurturing environment.

The initiative focused on supporting their education, health, and personal well-being through:

• Distribution of Swachh Shiksha Kits (School Bags) to encourage continued learning and school readiness.

• Awareness sessions on Personal Hygiene, Health, and Safety, promoting healthy habits and empowering children with practical knowledge to protect their well-being.

Swachhata begins with awareness. When children are equipped with the knowledge to make healthy, safe, and responsible choices, they become the driving force behind cleaner communities and a healthier future.

SMART Foundation and BPCL also organised an awareness programme for 120 students at the Government Adi Dravidar Welfare School, Ranipet District. Many of these students come from economically disadvantaged and single-parent families, making awareness and life skills education especially important in empowering them to navigate adolescence with confidence and make informed decisions.

The programme focused on:

• Adolescent Health & Personal Hygiene

• Legal Awareness & Child Rights

• Protection under the POCSO Act

• Cyber Safety & Responsible Digital Behaviour

• Prevention of Drug and Substance Abuse

Through engaging and interactive sessions, students gained valuable knowledge about their rights, personal well-being, online safety, and the importance of making healthy lifestyle choices.

At SMART Foundation, we believe that every child, regardless of their circumstances, deserves access to quality education, a safe environment, and the opportunity to build a brighter future with dignity and hope.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), the Child Welfare Committee, the District Administration, the Government Adi Dravidar Welfare School, the officials of the Child Care Institution, and all the resource persons whose support made this initiative possible.

Together, we continue to advance the vision of Swachhata by building cleaner, safer, and more child-friendly institutions that nurture dignity, care, and hope.
