On 12 January 2026, SMART Foundation organised a Samathuva Pongal (சமத்துவ பொங்கல்) celebration in Vellore District, extending support to 20 economically disadvantaged families of persons with complete visual impairment.
As part of the initiative, Pongal Seer (festival essentials) and new clothes were distributed, enabling the families to celebrate the harvest festival with happiness and dignity in their own homes.
Through initiatives like these, SMART Foundation continues to foster inclusion, preserve cultural traditions, and promote social equity by standing with vulnerable communities and ensuring that no one is left behind during moments of celebration.
