On Global Accessibility Awareness Day, SMART Foundation runs public drives highlighting the physical and digital access gaps in local institutions, along with working sessions for shopkeepers, transport operators, and local officials.

The sessions focus on low-cost fixes rather than compliance lectures. A ramp angle that actually works. A doorway width. A counter height. A bus stop that can be boarded. None of it is expensive, and almost none of it is visible to people who have never needed to notice it.

Most accessibility failures are not decisions. They are oversights that nobody has been asked to correct.
